US Unlocks Extra USD4B in Military Financing for Poland
Thomas DiNanno, US undersecretary of state for arms control and international security, revealed the expanded credit facility would bring Poland's total available financing under the Foreign Military Financing (FMF) program to $20 billion, according to media.
DiNanno delivered the announcement during a ceremony in the central Polish city of Lask, marking Poland's recent acquisition of US-manufactured F-35 fighter jets.
"I'd like to take this opportunity to announce today the United States will be making another $4 billion available in the Foreign Military Financing (FMF) program for Poland," DiNanno said.
"This signifies US commitment to Polish security and highlights Poland as a priority US ally," he added.
The FMF program provides government-backed credit lines enabling partner nations to procure American military hardware and services — spanning aircraft, missile defense systems, armored vehicles, and combat training.
Since joining the program in 2023, Poland has drawn more than $15 billion in financing, funding acquisitions including Apache helicopters, Patriot air defense batteries, HIMARS rocket launchers, and Abrams battle tanks, per media.
The announcement underscores Washington's deepening defense partnership with Warsaw amid heightened security concerns across Eastern Europe.
